Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) is Canada’s largest and busiest airport. It serves over 40 airlines and connects to more than 160 destinations worldwide.
Pearson has two main passenger terminals: Terminal 1 (T1) and Terminal 3 (T3). Each has different areas for arrivals, departures, and airport services. The airport provides interactive maps and downloadable PDFs to help passengers find their way.
Use the official “Toronto Pearson Airport map” to search for a location, view terminal layouts, and find directions to airport facilities.
Pearson sits in Mississauga, about 22.5 kilometres northwest of downtown Toronto. The airport campus covers roughly 1,867 hectares and is surrounded by five runways.
The two terminals sit about 1.5 kilometres apart, connected by the Terminal Link train and a network of service roads.
Between T1 and T3, you will see parking garages, the Sheraton Gateway Hotel, and the Terminal Link track.
North of the terminals, Viscount Station sits, along with the Value Park Garage and the ALT Hotel. The Terminal Link train connects it to both terminals.
The UP Express line runs along the western edge of the airport, with its station inside Terminal 1. It is a separate track from the Terminal Link train, which is why the UP Express only stops at T1.
The main access roads are Highway 401 (south), Highway 427 (east), Airport Road (west), and Dixon Road (north). Taxis and rideshares typically enter via these routes depending on which terminal you are heading to.
The runways surround the terminals. This arrangement is why the airport has no through-traffic. All vehicles enter and exit through designated access points.
Pearson has two passenger terminals. There is no Terminal 2. It was demolished in 2008. Both terminals handle domestic, international, and US-bound flights. But they serve different airlines.
| Terminal | Airlines | Gates |
| Terminal 1 | Air Canada, Star Alliance partners | 58 |
| Terminal 3 | WestJet, Porter, most international carriers | 46 |

Terminal 1 is the larger of the two terminals. It serves both domestic and international passengers. Its official map is divided into four sections, covering different levels and airport activities.
| Level | Purpose |
| Ground Level | Ground transportation, parking connections |
| Level 1 | Arrivals |
| Level 2 | Departures (Gates D, E, F) |
| Level 3 | Check-in |
Use the ground-level map when you need to navigate ground transportation. It is particularly helpful to find taxis, ride-share pickups, and the Terminal Link train.
Ride-share pickups are on the ground level outside doors P, Q, R, and S. Zones are allocated by provider: Lyft and Hopp at doors P-Q, and Uber at doors Q-S.
Taxis are on the Arrivals Level at Door D.
After landing, follow signs to the Arrivals Level (Level 1). This is where you clear customs and collect baggage.
Ground transportation is one level down. Follow the signs to the Ground Level for taxis, ride-share, and the UP Express.
The UP Express station is in Terminal 1, next to the Terminal Link Train. Follow the “Train to City” signs.
The departure level is Level 2. This is where you go through security and reach your gate.
Check-in is on Level 3. If you are checking bags, go to Level 3 first. Then proceed to Level 2 for security and departures.
Terminal 1 gates are D, E, and F.
Terminal 3 is a linear terminal with three working levels. It serves WestJet, Porter, and most international carriers.
| Level | Purpose |
| Level 1 | Arrivals |
| Level 2 | Departures processing |
| Level 3 | Sheraton Hotel and Terminal Link connector |
Use the arrivals map to orient yourself after landing. Follow signs for baggage claim, customs where applicable, and the terminal exit.
If someone is picking you up, confirm the designated meeting or pickup location before they set off. The correct location can depend on the terminal and transportation arrangement.
Departures processing is on Level 2. This is where you go through security.
Terminal 3 gates use the letters A, B, and C. Gate pier A is closest to security. Gates A1 to A6 take 2 to 3 minutes to reach on foot.
The gate map shows the layout of the departure piers. Gate areas are marked with letters and numbers.
Check your boarding pass for your gate number. Then look at the gate map to see where it sits in the terminal.
View the official Toronto Pearson maps to open the relevant Terminal 3 layout.
Here is the process for finding your gate.
If your gate hasn’t been assigned yet, keep checking the airport displays or your airline’s flight information.
The interactive map lets you search for specific services. Use it to find washrooms, elevators, restaurants, shops, lounges, and security checkpoints.
| Service | How to Find It |
| Washrooms | Search “washroom” on the interactive map |
| Restaurants | Filter by terminal and level |
| Lounges | Search “lounge” or check the Plaza Premium locations |
| Security | Search “security” to find checkpoint locations |
| Elevators | Look for the elevator icon on the level map |
If you have a connecting flight, verify both flight terminals. You may need to change terminals. Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 are not connected airside. You must exit and take the free Terminal Link train.
The train runs 24 hours a day. The ride takes 4 to 8 minutes between terminals.
| Transfer | Option | Time |
| T1 to T3 | Terminal Link train (free) | 4 to 8 minutes |
| T3 to T1 | Terminal Link train (free) | 4 to 8 minutes |
You will need to go through security again after transferring. Allow at least 90 minutes for the connection.

Finding the arrivals area inside the terminal and locating the curbside pickup are two different tasks.
| Need | Terminal 1 | Terminal 3 |
| Taxi | Door D | Doors D, E, F |
| Uber | Doors Q, R, S | Doors B and D |
| Lyft | Doors P, Q | Doors B and D |
| UP Express | Terminal 1, next to Terminal Link | Take Terminal Link to T1 |
| Terminal Link Train | Parking Garage Level 5 | Level 3, Sheraton connector |
Pickup locations can change. Check the latest ground transportation map on the official website before you travel.
The airport has several parking options, from terminal garages to long-term value lots. All are connected by the free Terminal Link train.
| Parking Option | Location |
| Express Park | T1 Garage |
| Daily Park | T1 and T3 Garages |
| Value Park Garage | Viscount Road |
| Value Park Lot | Viscount Road |
Express Park is a covered parking facility that is directly connected to Terminal 1. It is a 2 to 3 minute walk to the terminal.
Daily Park is available at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 garages.
Value Park Garage is the best value for long-term parking. It is a 7 to 12 minute ride from both terminals on the Terminal Link train.
Value Park Lot is now only available by reservation. It is located at 6135 Viscount Road, a 9 to 15 minute train ride from both terminals.
Multiple transport options connect the airport to downtown Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.
