When it comes to international AI flights, one of the most common questions is, “What is the Air India baggage allowance?” Flying internationally can be quite confusing; airlines seem to change the amount of luggage they will let passengers check all the time. If you want to avoid annoying airline fees, you need to know the rules and pack your things right. We explain everything you need to know about Air India baggage allowance for Canada, including how much it costs and how much weight you can bring.

Checked-In Baggage Allowance

Air India lets all passengers check in a lot of luggage, which will make your trip more pleasant. The generous Air India baggage allowance to Canada makes it a popular airline for that route.

  • Air India First Class – Passengers are allowed to check in 40 kg split between different bags. The maximum bag limit is 32 kg each so you may need to pack two bags. No bag should exceed 62 inches or 158 cm in size when the length, breadth, and height are added up.
  • Air India Business Class Allowance – Air India business class passengers can check in 35 kg between two bags. No bag should exceed 62 inches or 158 cm in size when the length, breadth, and height are added up.
  • Air India Economy Class Allowance – Economy class passengers are allowed to check in 25 kg. No bag should exceed 62 inches or 158 cm in size when the length, breadth, and height are added up.

Infants in all classes are allowed an additional 10 kg so parents can pack all of their essentials without worry. When added up, all of the bags you check in shouldn’t exceed 107 inches in size together.

The airline lets passengers check in one piece of luggage for free, and those in Business or First Class can also check in the second piece of luggage for free. These rules apply to Air India baggage allowance international and domestic.

Air India Hand Baggage Allowance

On Air India Airlines flights, passengers are expected to follow strict rules about how much hand luggage and carry-on luggage they can bring. Domestic and international flights on Air India have different rules about how much cabin luggage you can bring on board.
